Our Client is a  leading manufacturer of highly engineered critical components and customized technology solutions for the energy, transportation and industrial markets.

The role

As a Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for definition and execution of group purchasing strategy (5 plants located in Poland, Germany and Czech Republic), and to manage end to end 2 chosen categories on a daily basis.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Global Purchasing Director you will be mostly responsible for:

  • Participating as purchasing representative in Product Teams across all sites
    • o Ensuring input to and execution of Company Procurement category strategies
  • Providing leadership and management of regional procurement organization
    • o Individual performance dialogues with focus on results and personal development
    • o Supporting Purchasing team
    • o Facilitating teamwork within team and across functions
    • o Organizing and prioritizing
    • o Best practice sharing
    • o Secure the use Procurement/Purchasing tools
  • Regional KPI pipeline execution
  • Supporting and participating in identifying and executing category KPI pipeline
  • Procurement cost reduction projects defining and executing
    • o Regional responsibility for cost-down activity creation and execution
    • o Ensuring use of purchasing tools for project management and procurement related activities (RFQ, , TCO, Business Case etc.)
    • o Supporting in facilitating technical cost-down activities with factory and supplier (VA/VE)
  • Leading two purchasing categories incl.: selection of suppliers, conducting the negotiation process, process optimization, cooperation with other departments, cooperation with external companies, administrative duties

The Ideal Candidate will have

  • Minimum BA degree
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement related experience from a manufacturing industry environment
    • o Minimum 2 years managerial experience
    • o Higher technical/economic education
    • o Experienced in negotiations
  • Any other desired requirements to personal or working experience (optional)
    • o Strong negotiation skills
    • o Strong project management skills and experience in leading and participating in project teams in an internal complex environment
    • o Continuous improvement experience
    • o Experience in having the “Customer in focus”
    • o Basic ability to understand product drawings and specifications
  • Other aspects
    • o English at C1 level, Russian or German would be an asset
    • o Ability to follow agreed business processes and procedures
    • o MS Office, SAP, project management
