EMEA Strategic Buyer (direct materials) Location: Cracow, Szczecin or hybrid (~ 1x per week in the office) Ref. PL23- R401 – S02
Our Client is a global technology company that designs and manufactures connectors and sensors for several industries, such as automotive, industrial equipment, data communication systems, aerospace, defense, medical, oil and gas, consumer electronics and energy. They are now developing their strategic sourcing team for the newly set up Solar Solutions Business Unit.
Scope of work: 4 plants in Europe (Poland, France, Germany, UK)
Key Responsibilities:
In this role you will be reporting to the Global Commodity manager located in Germany and you will be responsible for:
- Developing & implementing strategy for assigned supplier portfolio in accordance with the EMEA commodity strategy
- Identification and development of the global supply base
- Performing supplier evaluations, monitoring supplier quality and delivery in line with the group requirements
- Delivering annual business results (ex. cost savings, supplier performance and compliance) for assigned commodities
- Preparing spend analysis, market insights and total cost of ownership
- Managing sourcing projects, key initiatives, and supplier negotiations
- Driving reporting process to give visibility to the business unit of cost change projects
- Managing the day to day relationship with suppliers to build long term rapport and drive extraordinary results
- Performing capacity analysis and minimize risk in the supply chain
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Engineering or a comparable qualification
- 6+ years of experience managing sourcing projects in strategic/direct purchasing within global environment (both for new product development and serial production)
- Very Strong analytical and computer-skills
- Experience in managing complex direct category (strategic/bottle necks items)
- Background in Automotive/Appliances/Aerospace/Industrials is a Plus
- Experience in cost analysis, cost breakdowns
- Experience in supplier management
- Track record of driving cost improvement opportunities
- Very good communication skills – ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Critical thinking & curiosity
- Good common sense in process and risk management/mitigation
- Strong potential and willingness to grow within Procurement organization
- Fluent English
